Vernacular Buildings Training Day

Want to better understand and gain confidence in tackling surveys of historic vernacular buildings?

Stephen has been undertaking surveys of such buildings for c.35 years.  During this training day you will learn what is a vernacular building, the various materials often used, the basics of vernacular construction, typical defects and how to provide competent advice and guidance to clients.

Whilst one day cannot hope to cover all there is to know about vernacular building, it will provide a good starting point.  At the end of the day delegates will leave with a greater understanding of vernacular buildings and increased confidence when surveying and reporting upon them.

An advantage of this day is that the training is held in an historic building and town so that we can see live some of the matters under discussion, particularly during a town walk.

The number of places are limited to 8 for each day, in order to ensure a more personal learning experience.

The day provides c. 7 hours CPD.
